Brady - Champion Speller

Last week, Brady came home with a list of 300 spelling words to practice for his school's spelling bee... THE NEXT DAY.  After getting in a total of about 10 minutes of practice on the school bus, I thought there was no way he would win.  So I was very surprised when Brady came home from school that day with a 1st place medal! 

That win qualified him to go to the school district spelling bee the following week.  We actually did practice for that one and he had the entire list of words down cold.  At the district bee, he survived through all the words from their list.  Then, they began to use "challenge" words - difficult words that the kids did not have a chance to practice.  He did great coming in 3rd place!  He even knocked a couple of kids out spelling the words "manicure" and "gorgeous" correctly.  To the right is a picture of Brady with his third place trophy.
